Valves
Valve maintenance is of critical importance in oilfield production. Periodic maintenance of valves, ESD systems and chokes, ensures that the equipment operates and seals properly. Without a proper servicing schedule, valves can corrode, fail to operate, and ultimately cause a loss of product. These problems can be minimized with the implementation of a valve maintenance schedule. |

Scheduled, preventative valve maintenance can add years to the service life, reduce the costs of repairs and minimize the need for valve replacements. A solid maintenance schedule will prevent:
Rusting stem threads. Drying and hardening of stem packing. Build up of dirt, rust, slag, sand, etc.
Restricted seat travel.Torque damage to seat materials and O-rings.Internal corrosion. |
When to call for service:
The valve(s) is leaking through the bore with the valve fully closed.The valve(s) will not fully open or close.
The valve(s) is hard to operate, or operates erratically.The valve(s) handwheel turns, but valve(s) do not operate.The valve(s) are leaking pressure.
